NCBI ID   NP_391046.1    Uniprot ID   P14204
Organism   Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis str. 168
Function   promoting transcription of comS
Competence regulation

Function

ComA, when phosphorylated by ComP, binds to the promoter region of the srfA operon, which includes comS, thereby promoting its transcription. ComS then stabilizes ComK, the master regulator of competence.
