Description | Expression of rhs1-CT alone within the cytoplasm of E. coli resulted in the arrest of E. coli growth within 1 h following induction of expression. E. coli expressing both rhs1-CT and the predicted cognate immunity gene, rhs1I, grew at normal WT levels, confirming that Rhs1 and Rhs1I are a genuine effector-immunity pair. |
