About
The Microbial Bioinformatics Group at the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism, Shanghai Jiaotong University, is focused on genome mining for bacterial mobile genetic elements, including: (i) characterization of the genomic islands in Klebsiella pneumoniae and the other opportunistic Gram-negative pathogens of the so-called "ESKAPE" group; (ii) development of the bioinformatics tools/databases for island analysis; (iii) identification of biosynthetic gene clusters for antibiotics in Streptomyces genomes.
