Description Direct VCA0117‐mediated regulation of Hcp is dependent on RpoN (σ54) and IHF, consistent with the findings above, analysis of wild‐type V. cholerae A1552 and its isogenic IHF‐null and RpoN (σ54) derivatives showed that lack of either σ54 or IHF lead to undetectable levels of Hcp.
