Description PaggR::lacZ reporter plasmids were introduced into an E. coli K12 hns mutant in the presence (pBADaggR) and in the absence (pBAD33) of AggR and further analysis suggested that the H-NS-dependent zone of repression lies downstream of the transcription start site (+114 to +290) as deletion of this DNA fragment eliminated dependence on H-NS.
