Summary

T6SS ID T6SS17502 experimental
T6SS type Type Unknown
Strain Citrobacter freundii strain CF74
Replicon (GenBank) (-)
Location -
Function anti-eukaryotic
Comment The type VI secretion system modulates flagellar gene expression and secretion in Citrobacter freundii and contributes to adhesion and cytotoxicity to host cells and T6SS induction of IL-1β secretion and promotion of bacterial survival in mice in vivo.
The C. freundii T6SS activated the inflammasomes mainly through caspase 1 and mediated pyroptosis of macrophages by releasing the cleaved gasdermin-N domain. The CF74 T6SS was required for flagellin-induced interleukin 1β release by macrophages.
