Overview

Name   ctsX   Type   Machinery gene
Locus tag   CJJ81176_RS07055 Genome accession   NC_008787
Coordinates   1384795..1385382 (-) Length   195 a.a.
NCBI ID   WP_002851370.1    Uniprot ID   A0AB36G4D4
Organism   Campylobacter jejuni subsp. jejuni 81-176
Function   DNA uptake
DNA binding and uptake

Function

Given the transformation defect of strain RSW46, which lacks complete cj1472c, we gave this gene a cts designation and have termed it ctsX. Topological analysis of CtsX by the use of LacZ and PhoA fusions demonstrated it to be a bitopic, integral membrane protein with a cytoplasmic amino terminus and a periplasmic carboxyl terminus.
