Overview

Name   dinR/lexA   Type   Regulator
Locus tag   BSU_17850 Genome accession   NC_000964
Coordinates   1917639..1918256 (-) Length   205 a.a.
NCBI ID   NP_389668.1    Uniprot ID   P31080
Organism   Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis str. 168
Function   repressor of recA; repressor of dinR
Homologous recombination

Function

A dinR insertion mutation caused a high, constitutive expression of both dinR and recA. Gel-retardation assays demonstrated a direct interaction between the dinR gene product and the recA and dinR promoter regions.
