Introduction
PATRIC BRC
PATRIC is the Bacterial Bioinformatics Resource Center (www.patricbrc.org), an freely available information system designed to support the biomedical research community’s work on bacterial infectious diseases via integration of vital pathogen information with rich data and analysis tools. PATRIC is a NIH/NIAID-funded project.

SKMML, SJTU
The State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism (SKMML) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) has been investigating secondary metabolites of microorganisms, including antibiotics, and their bio-activity by using molecular microbiology, biochemistry, genomics, bioinformatics and synthetic biology.

微生物代谢国家重点实验室成功举办了细菌耐药性和药物开发的研讨会

2015年6月30日,由上海交通大学生命科学技术学院/微生物代谢国家重点实验室主办的“细菌耐药性和药物开发”研讨会在生物药学楼成功举办。来自上海交通大学、复旦大学附属华山医院、美国阿贡国家实验室、芝加哥大学和弗吉尼亚理工大学的微生物学、生物工程、功能组学和微生物信息学等多个学科背景的专家学者和研究生参加了此次研讨会。

上海交通大学生命科学技术学院/微生物代谢国家重点实验室常务副主任张雪洪教授首先致开幕辞。随后,与会的中美专家围绕抗生素滥用引发的细菌耐药等全球关注的热点问题,呈现了六个精彩的学术报告。上海交通大学生命科学技术学院生物工程系主任白林泉教授从新抗生素发现的视角作了“Reviving microbes for drug discovery and development”的报告;生物信息学系陈海峰副教授从新药物靶位点的视角作了“Allosteric regulation of bacterial riboswitch using dynamics correlation network”的报告;微生物科学系欧竑宇教授从耐药基因水平转移的视角作了“Comparative analysis of bacterial Integrative and Conjugative Elements”的报告。美国芝加哥大学计算科学系的Rick Stevens教授作了开发病原细菌资源整合中心PATRIC (The Pathosystems Resource Integration Center)的报告;阿贡国家实验室的Fangfang Xia研究员作了基因组序列组装、注释和建模方法的报告;阿贡国家实验室的Thomas Brettin研究员作了RNA-seq转录组和蛋白组数据分析的报告;弗吉尼亚理工大学生物信息学中心的Rebecca Wattam教授作了耐药基因比较分析的报告。

六十多名与会代表开展了热烈的交流和深入的讨论。大家一致建议加强国际合作,开发基于新一代测序的微生物功能组学数据挖掘和知识发现平台,系统地认识细菌耐药形成机制及其耐药性状的快速播散规律,开展源头创新抗菌药物靶标和先导筛选,最终形成抗生素发现和高产的研发体系。
